| Welcome to the August Art Newsletter Hello again everyone,
August already. Are you wondering like I am "where has the year gone"?
I hope that you are enjoying summer wherever you are in the world and that life is being kind to you.
There has been a lot happening and the second half of 2008 is shaping up to be the busiest time in my art career so far.
A huge "thank you" to all of you who have brought me this far and I hope that we get the chance to meet up outside the virtual world over the next few months.
. Best Regards Joe | I will be represented at the forthcoming Homes And Interiors Exhibition in Glasgow by the Ealain Gallery. This is a fantastic event with lots to see and do in addition to browsing the art on display.  The Ealain Gallery have kindly provided me with complimentary tickets (entry for two is normally 20 pounds) and I have a limited number of these available on a first come/first served basis for those of you who email me. | Sunday Mail
At the end of July I was contacted by the Sunday Mail newspaper. Following an interview, a full page feature was included in the newspaper at the end of the month. For those of you further afield, the Sunday Mail is one of the Scottish tabloids and whilst it may not take the high ground with regard to its literary content it has a huge circulation.
This was massive exposure for me and on top of winning entry to the Lauderdale House exhibition in London, seems to have set off a chain of quite high profile events over the forthcoming months.
Some of these are detailed here and some I am sworn to secrecy on for a few more weeks!

| | | Boys & Girls I often describe the Park Gallery in Glasgow as my artistic home. This gallery really took me under their wing and they have been key in the development of my career over the past year and a half. I am therefore really excited to announce that I will have my second solo show, "Boys and Girls" at the Park Gallery in October.  The exhibition will run from Thursday 23rd October to 9th November. The preview evening will be on the 23rd and I hope that you will be able to make it along to give me support and have a look at some new work and enjoy a glass of wine with us. | |
| | | Watch this space over the next few months as I have been invited to take part in a major event in Glasgow.
I am very flattered as most of the other artists taking part are very established.
Having been in dialogue with the organisers, I am working on some new celebrity art which I hope might raise a few eyebrows.
| | Alcohol & Art
On an evening out, I can often (but not too often!) be found sitting at the bar in ArtDeCaf in Glasgow.
This is a fusion of wine bar and art gallery. I think that the theory is that after a few glasses the art becomes more appealing.
After months of promising to hang some art there, I will finally have a "Kilty" displayed in the main window from this week.

| Where In The World Are You?
I just wanted to take this opportunity to point out that although the newsletters are often rich in local events, I am very aware that much of the support I have had has been from outside Scotland and indeed many of you who have subscribed are in far away places all over the globe.
I still update my website regularly and I am as committed as ever to sending art to buyers who live overseas, wherever it is that you call home.
