Well what a month November has been.
Lots of exhibiting and taking part in the largest ever art auction in Scotland.
This is the last art newsletter of the year and I would like to say a huge thank you to all of you for your support. I hope that you and yours have a peaceful Christmas.

The McTears "Contemporary Scotland 2008" auction finally took place on Saturday 22nd November. This was a huge event but many people were nervous because of the current financial climate.
These fears became a reality unfortunately as over 80% of the art
did not sell. I had already been chosen for interview by the Sunday Express during the week so there was added pressure on me as I did not want to be humiliated in the Sunday press.
I am grateful that 5 of my 7 paintings sold! This was fantastic as I was exhibiting with many more established painters including two former college lecturers of mine.
The Newspaper article was factual about the current financial situation and mentioned that I am continuing to do well despite the current downturn.
Oddly enough, the piece that created the most interest was the one that did not sell!

| | | Parade Artists
I will be taking part in the Parade Artists sale of works on 29th and 30th November and 6th and 7th December.
These events are quite unique events with all the artists in one large space.
It is an opportunity for me to get lots of feedback and a chance for the public to meet painters, sculptors and glass artists in an informal setting.

"Good Luck!" to the Ealain Gallery who have opened in Drymen near Loch Lomond in Scotland. I have been working with the Gallery during 2008 and they currently have several Joe Hendry originals on display.
