Art Auction Anyone?

After the success of the first McTears auction, I am very flattered to have been invited back for the second sale which takes place on March 7th 2009.

Although the event itself takes place in Glasgow, it is possible to register at the McTears Website and bid or just view the auction. It is quite an exciting spectacle and I will be watching online if not actually there in person.

I have again painted some Scots celebrities and also being auctioned is a special "Kiltie". More on him elsewhere in the Newsletter.

The McTears catalogue, with Joe Hendry lots 46 to 50 can be viewed

2009 is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns. This is quite an event in Scotland and there is an entire campaign tied in called "Homecoming 2009"

I did not envisage such a "cheeky" celebration of my own but when I looked at my Answer Is Kiltie and the name Burns, the connection with BUNS was just too good to be missed!

The original piece of art will be auctioned at McTears but I have created a very special Limited Edition Print of only 95 of these. They are on a double thick mount and printed on paper which is 90% bamboo.

The low numbers are now available and you can find out more iat joehendry.com

I have been approached by Adrian Grove, who lost his baby son last April after he contracted a blood infection affecting newborn babies.

Adrian is organising a charity fundraiser in September. I will be donating a piece of artwork which will hopefully, help them to reach their target.

From the feedback I receive every month, I know that there are many of you who might also be interested in helping or even just finding out more about the infection GBS and you can do so by clicking HERE

I have Adrian's contact details if any of you are in a position to give further support.

No New Work?

Other than the work for McTears, you may have noticed a lack of new art on the website.

This is because I have not been eating enough porridge and have fallen foul to the dreaded Lurgie yet again this winter!

All will be well though and I am hoping to return to the studio after an unexpected break, when i will be completing the five canvasses currently on the go, including the new treescape shown above.
