| Welcome to the March Art Newsletter Hello Everyone,
Thanks for all the "get well" emails. It really did mean a lot to hear from so many of you.
As always, please drop me a line if you have any questions, suggestions or just to say "hi". Joe | The McTears Scottish Contemporary Art Auction Sping 2009 is this coming Saturday, the 7th of March.

It's hard to convey just how exciting an event this is. McTears website allows you to register (even if you are not buying) and watch the event live. I have no idea how the auction will go but this is a truly international event with people watching and bidding from all over the world.
| Parade Artists
I will again be taking part in the Parade Artists exhibition this spring. For those of you local to Glasgow, this is a very informal "craft" style event and I usually never know what to have on display until the week before.
Previous events have been hugely successful and enjoyable. They are a great way for the public to meet all types of artists including sculptors and glassmakers.
The dates for your diary are 16th and 17th May.
| I have started to upload new artwork to the website.
It has been a mixed bag and I am really enjoying working on new figurative, landscape and cityscape pieces.
If you remember the tree art from the dream in last month's newsletter, this is the way it turned out:-

After my trip around Glasgow, I have also been working on new Cityscapes:-

| | | Social Networking Sites
Quite often I get contacted by people who use Bebo, Facebook, Myspace etc. It's all good fun but I must be getting old because I am finding it difficult "working" them all.
I am therefore scaling down my Social Network sites and will concentrate mainly on Facebook as it seems to be the most internationally popular.
So, if any of you are looking to add a Scottish artist, feel free!
You can find me under my name or using the joe.hendry@btopenworld.com email address.
| Photography
I have been working on much more photography based paintings. Whilst I don't claim to be a photographer, I really enjoy getting out there and literally seeing things from a new angle. I have shared some of these on the Facebook page and also the Blog. This painting of Glasgow Cathedral is almost complete and I am toying with the idea of visiting various sites outwith Scotland.
Any suggestions?

I have improved the navigation of the site with new art now shown on the very first page.
Also, in the Blog section there are works in progress and some of the thinking behind new paintings. | |
